QUEENSTOWN ON SHOW

  • A Scpecial Weekend of Activities

    The Gathering will not be the only notable thing happening in Queenstown that weekend, with a range of activities planned to show off Queenstown at its artistic, community and historic best.

    The full Queenstown on Show program is available by clikcing on the images to the right, and for those partners not actually attending the Gathering activities there are a range of tours and markets to participate in.

    Those of us at the Gathering will be fully occupied from 7.00 Friday to 2.30 Sunday, which still leaves Sunday afternoon to explore the galleries, Penghana Gardens and the Galley Museum.

    There is also a special train trip departing at 4.50 Sunday from Queenstown to Rinadeena and return, for the terrific price of $40. Bookings are essential for this trip – on 64711700. .

    TThe Silver Hills Motel is delighted to be hosting the Volunteer Ambulance Officers Association of Tasmania’s’ annual conference in Queenstown this year. It promises indeed to be a special weekend for Queenstown as the conference is timed perfectly to coincide with a Queenstown on Show weekend that is sure to attract media and additional visitation to the region.

    So the Silver Hills Motel would like to invite all conference attendees to linger a little longer in this very special part of Tasmania.

  • Strahan Backpackers YHA

    The Strahan Backpackers YHA is under new management and run by a family who are proud to be involved with the Strahan Ambulance Unit.

    We invite attendees at the Volunteer Ambulance Officer Gathering to bring the family and come and stay with Strahan Backpackers for the days before or after the event for as little as $85.00 for 2 nights in one of our A Frame Huts, then stay a 3rd night for free!!

    For any bookings over 6 people, we will put on a BBQ for $10.00 per head which will be donated to VAOAT, or book your Gordon River Cruise, Wilderness Railway or Bonnett Island Tour through us, and we will donate our commission to VAOAT.

    Mt Lyell Mine Tours is pleased to offer a 50% discount per person for underground mine tours to ambulance officers that travel to Queenstown for the vollie weekend (tours are usually $100 per person). This offer is open for the week leading up to and the week after the VAOAT Gathering. Tour groups must be four or more to qualify for the 50% discount.
